We are thoroughly enjoying our Daikin heat pumps that were installed by LaPlante Electric last month. From the initial sales call to installation, everything went smoothly. Our installation date was one month after signing the papers, yet they called us with an earlier date due to a cancellation. It was a nice surprise, but unfortunately, we were on vacation, so we kept our original date. On installation day, the crew showed up right on time and were very respectful when they were inside our home. One of the units was defective, which the technician realized right away. A new unit was brought out from the shop immediately. The outside installation looks great. The pipework blends in with our house trim, and the main unit is tucked in the corner of our house. Once the installation was finished, the tech explained in detail how to operate the units. We would highly recommend LaPlante Electric if you’re in the market for heat pumps.

When we were shopping around for a vendor to install a new backup generator Laplante Electric was the most expensive by far. We fell for the salesman’s pitch about “superior service” and went with Laplante anyway—big mistake. The installation is only 9 months old and the equipment has failed. It’s still under warranty. After five phone calls we’ve been told that the first available service appointment is October 23–nine weeks from now. In the middle of hurricane season in New England, what could possibly go wrong by then.

My father, Michael LaPlante, started LaPlante Electric in 1974, and I’ve worked here with my dad since I was 13 years old.
He would get up every morning and go off to work, and my brother and I would get to spend every day at home with our mother. Both were incredibly hard workers who believed in the value of sacrifice and persistence.
My parents taught me to treat everyone fairly, and always do the right thing.
